Authoring roles

Pro or Seated member roles that include authoring capabilities are: Draft Contributor, Author, Editor, Admin.
Additional pre-defined User Types and Pro Member roles are available that do not have authoring capabilities. See Pro Member roles and permissions for a comprehensive comparison of permissions for each role.
A role assigned in the Control Panel will only allow authoring on pages with a Public Page Privacy setting. If you are using the non-Public Page Privacy setting, assign roles at the page-level to enable authoring privileges.
