Third party cookie deprecation

What to expect

Google is deprecating third party cookies starting Q1 of 2024. To maintain our customer sites connectivity with this rollout, we will begin modifying our cookie security policy starting in Q4 of 2023. Affected areas include Touchpoint integrations and browser/Oauth2 Tokens.

While this change has already been tested internally, there will be an incremental rollout of these changes to customer sites:

Phase 1:

Rollout new cookie security policy to a few sites with no touchpoints and no browser/Oauth2 tokens.

Phase 2:

Rollout new cookie security policy to a few sites with touchpoints, but no browser/Oauth2 tokens.

Phase 3:

Rollout new cookie security policy to a few sites with touchpoints and browser/Oauth2 tokens.

Phase 4:

By the end of 2023, all sites will have the updated cookie security policy ahead of the official Google third party cookie phase out.

How will I know if my site has the updated security policy?

Your CSM will notify you a week before the update goes live to your site. Should it happen, you should report any connectivity issues with your touchpoints or browser tokens ASAP to the Expert support team. Release notes will reflect the most current status of the rollout plan. Note, if your CSM has not reached out to you beforehand, you are not included in the initial rollout testing, but will still get the update by the end of 2023.
