May 2025 Releases
Release 2025-05-01
This release is complete. The Release was deployed to all Expert sites as of 11:59 PM (PST).
Fixes
GenSearch responses
Previously, pages with content that was reused from redirected (moved) pages were not being returned in generative responses or in Kernels. Now, redirects are included and expected pages show up in the response and Kernels.
GenSearch rate limit
Previously, the rate limit could be set greater than 20. The rate limit property can now be updated with a value from 5-20 by using the property endpoint. If the new value is outside these limits, you will get an error and must call the endpoint again with an acceptable value.
Instant Translation for Thai language
Sites that have Thai as an option would translate the site into Thai, but the drop-down option for Thai was in Telegu. Now the menu option is in Thai as expected.

Enhancement
GenSearch responses
We have updated the default GenSearch settings to improve UX and satisfaction with responses:
- The backend prompt structure and default messaging works more cohesively with the instructions you provide.
- The Missing Information and No Answer responses are now the same.
- Previously, if there were Kernels for the question but no answer, the Missing Information response and source articles were returned. Now, only the Missing information response is returned.
Announcement
Feature availability
We are thrilled to announce the following features have been made GA (generally available) for all sites:
- GenSearch: Ask natural language questions and receive natural language answers to quickly glean the information you need from site contents without having to read an article pr multiple pages.
- GenSearch reporting: Monitor generative search queries, feedback, and click-through rate on source articles, to inform content decisions and GenSearch settings.
- HTML content importer: Import content from non-Expert sources into your Expert site. This enables you to unify content from multiple sources, and use LLM / AI capabilities with content that is not Expert-native.
The Editor v2 with AI capabilities is currently LA (Limited Availability) and will be enabled for all new sites. The new Editor offers a modern UI and improved UX, as well as built-in AI functions for easier content improvement within the Expert platform.
