Null engagement instances were grouped into a new Non-Pageviews engagement channel as of November 30, 2023.
There are several reasons why traffic might be grouped into such a channel. The common theme among all Non-Pageviews traffic is that during a particular session, no page was viewed. Because this is still considered legitimate traffic to your site, this traffic must be included in reporting, however, you can filter out this engagement channel for all data collected after November 30th.

Some reasons for observing Utility traffic include:
- API calls
- User login
- Changes to user preferences
- Page rendering
- Reading from cache
- Search that did not result in opening a page
