Auto-descriptions for rich media
Use the platform's generative capability to auto-caption media files in Media Manager with <description> tags.
Prerequisites
- Media Manager enabled on your site. If you do not see Media Manager, please contact someone from the Support team to enable it on your site.
- Editing permission for the media collection

Feature details
The newest model used within the NiCE KM platform, AWS Nova has multi-modal support, so that is the model this feature uses as a reference.
Both human-generated and auto descriptions are limited to 500 characters or less. For media that is either not supported or is too large, no generated description is provided.
What site content is supported?
Auto-descriptions are supported for new files added to Media Manager. They are not supported for:
- Tables
- Media added at the page level (not via Media Manager)
- Existing media in Media Manager. Auto-descriptions will apply to new uploads only.
Supported file extensions
- pdf, doc / docx, xls / xlsx, and txt files <4.5 MB
- png, jpeg, gif files <20 MB
Unsupported file extensions
The following file extensions are not supported:
- pptx
- odt
- odp
- rtf
- jpg
- svg
