Custom text and background colors

Admins can add brand colors to text and background palettes via the UI. This functionality enables customization without reliance on technical resources, ensuring brand colors are consistently available for all content contributors.

Requirements

  • Enhanced Editor enabled
  • Admin user role

Manage colors

The Color palettes section includes two customizable palettes, one for editor text color, and one for background color. Each palette contains 22 color swatches in a grid layout.

  • Each palette is a visual preview of your swatches as they will appear in the editor.
  • By default, no custom colors are defined and the editor returns a default set of color swatches.
  • Each palette shows a numerical count of the custom swatches beneath the palette.

Add colors

  1. Navigate to Site Tools > Dashboard > Editor Configurations > Editor Functions.
  2. Scroll to the Color palettes section.
  3. Click the swatch you want to define.
  4. Click the edit icon in the top right of the swatch.
  5. Enter the hexadecimal code or use the color picker to the right of the hex field to select a color.
  6. Enter the color name in the text field.
  7. Click Add. Repeat Steps 3-6 to create additional custom color swatches.
  8. Click the Save button.

Remove colors

To remove all custom colors from a palette:

  1. Navigate to Site Tools > Dashboard > Editor Configurations > Editor Functions.
  2. Scroll to the Color palettes section.
  3. Click the Reset to default button beneath the palette
  4. Click the Save button.

To remove individual colors from a palette:

  1. Navigate to Site Tools > Dashboard > Editor Configurations > Editor Functions.
  2. Scroll to the Color palettes section.
  3. Click the swatch you want to remove.
  4. Click the delete icon in the top left of the swatch.
  5. Click the Save button.

The Save button is only clickable after changes are made.
