How to interpret and use Content Adequacy data

The Content Adequacy report shows how ready your content is to answer your users' questions.

Understand how adequacy is calculated

When you upload a set of questions, for each question, the Content Adequacy report gathers the associated Kernels and the top 3 traditional search results (blue links). The report then determines if the question can be answered using the gathered information.

Interpret the results

There are 3 possible results for each question:

  1. Generative Search Ready
  • Meaning: The question is fully answerable with the provided Kernels.
  • Action: None required.
  1. Generative Search Not Ready
  • Meaning: The question is answerable with only the content from the top 3 search results, or there is conflicting information among the retrieved Kernels.
  • Actions:
    • Search for the query in Expert and review the content that ranks highest.
    • Update or add content to answer the question.
    • Use the Kernels API to evaluate what kernels are being returned.
  1. Missing Content
  • Meaning: The question is not answerable with any of the provided context (Kernels or search result pages).
  • Actions:
    • Search for the query in Expert and review the content that ranks highest.
    • Add new content or update existing content to answer the question.
    • Use the Kernels API to evaluate what kernels are being returned.
