Configure a default sign-in provider

Site admins can choose whether Local (Native) Login or a specific enabled external identity provider (SAML or OIDC) is presented as the default sign-in method for their site. This selection can be made directly from the SSO Configuration page; no request to NiCE Support is required.

Prerequisite

Admin user access

If you want to set an external provider as the default, that provider must already be configured and enabled on the SSO Configuration page. If no external providers are configured, Local / Native Login is the only option available.

Set the default sign-in provider

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Integrations > Single Sign-On Configuration.
  2. In the Default Sign-in Provider field, select a provider from the drop-down. The list includes Local / Native Login, plus every external SAML or OIDC provider that is currently enabled on the site.
  3. The selection saves automatically when you choose it so you do not need to save.

If the save fails for any reason, the field reverts to its previous value and an error message appears. In that case, wait a moment and try the selection again.

About the provider list

  • Only providers that are enabled appear in the list. If a provider is disabled, it will not show up until it is re-enabled.
  • Exactly one option is marked as the current default at any given time.
  • The drop-down offers Local / Native Login or exactly one external provider as the default. The user cannot choose at login through this selector.

If a provider is currently set as the default and it is later disabled or removed from the configuration page, choose a new default. The page does not automatically reassign a new default.
